El Chorro is a section of the Naranjo, and it is not the Naranjo trip: narrow gorges, steep drops, Class IV and above, a minimum age of sixteen and a requirement that you have rafted before.
It only runs in the dry season, which is the thing most people do not expect. Lower water is what makes the gorge passable at all, so this is a trip you plan around the calendar rather than around your week.

What you get for the qualification is the best-looking water of the three. The river drops into smooth rock corridors barely wider than the boat, and there are stretches where the walls stand well above your head on both sides.
The operator supplies the guides and the pro-grade kit, and they are selective about who they put on it. If your group does not have the experience, they will say so and so will we.

Picked up at the hotel.
Two departures. The drive out is the same as for the other rafting trips.
Kit and a serious briefing.
Pro-grade equipment and a longer safety talk than the easier rivers get, because this one needs it. Expect to be asked what you have paddled before.
Drops and rock corridors.
The main descent, through narrow gorges and over steep drops, with the guide calling every stroke.
A meal at the base.
A full breakfast or lunch depending on the departure, at the operator’s base once you are off the water.
