A stone iguana on the pool rim, a hammock you have to go looking for, a pastry case that never really closes. Here is what is here, and what we can arrange.
Six places worth finding
The hotel is built up a hillside in pieces, so it does not reveal itself all at once. These are the corners guests tell us about afterwards.

Poolside, and open before the kitchen is
The bar at Coconuts opens onto the pool deck, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Cocktails, craft beer and wine at a carved wooden counter with stools.

"The Hammock" Terrace
You have to go looking for it
A net hammock slung inside a steel frame between two trees, high enough on the hillside to see past the canopy to the water. Shade, nature sounds and breeze.
"Tree-Top" Resting Point
Halfway up, and welcome
The climb to the tree top units is a real climb, so there is a landing partway with a mosaic topped table, stone benches and a rocking chair under the palms.
Adults-only Pool Terrace
Sun, or a coffee above the pool
A timber deck raised above the pool with cafe tables, chairs and a lounger, looking down over the roofs and the gardens. It is the adults only corner of the property.

The lit glass case at Coconuts, with desserts and pastries either made here or sourced locally, and a coffee machine that runs all day.

Most of what guests need here is a phone call to somebody we already know. Message the concierge and skip that part.

We book private drivers, shared shuttles, local charter flights and rental cars, so you do not have to work out which one makes sense from abroad.

Park tours, catamaran, waterfalls, zip line, sportfishing, mangroves. We handle the coordination and you pay what you would have paid anyway.

The kitchen handles vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and most allergies. Tell us in your message or when you sit down.

Tell us in advance and we will coordinate instructions and make sure someone is there to greet you, even well after standard check-in.

The climb to the hillside rooms is steep. Let us know your arrival time in advance and we will carry them up.

Laundry, washed and folded
Bags are at the front desk and that is where they come back to us. We wash, machine dry and fold, and bring it up to your room. $16 a bag.

Daily housekeeping, or a voucher instead
Your room is made up every day. Ask at reception to skip a day and we will hand you a 2,500 colon voucher for the restaurant or bar, on an order of 5,000 or more.
Getting around a hillside
The hotel is built up a hillside, and we would rather you knew that from us than discovered it with a suitcase.
The pool, restaurant, bar and gardens are all on one level. The tree top units are up a steep climb, not one we recommend with any mobility trouble or in pregnancy.

Will we see wildlife without going on a tour?
Most days, without anyone arranging it. Monkeys and scarlet macaws come through the pool area, motmots turn up at the resting point on the climb, and the macaws nest in the palm overhead.
Where can we sit by the pool?
Loungers and umbrellas run along the main deck. Above it there is a timber deck with cafe tables, chairs and a lounger, the adults only corner of the property, and the place to take some sun or sit with a coffee over the pool.
What is the bar like?
A carved wooden counter with stools, and armchairs for anyone who would rather sit back from it. It opens onto the pool deck, and it is the part of the property where guests tend to end up talking to each other.
Where is the hammock terrace, and can we have a massage there?
It is up on the hillside and not on the way to anywhere, so guests find it by exploring. It is also a good spot for one of our in-house massages, which reception arranges.
Is the coffee and pastry counter a separate cafe?
No, it is not a separate address. It is the corner of Coconuts with the lit glass case, the one you walk to rather than sit down for.
How does the housekeeping voucher work?
Ask at reception on a morning you would rather skip. Spend it that same day, in the restaurant or the bar; one a day, they do not save up, and housekeeping starts again the next morning.

The room types here are genuinely different from each other. Garden level or up in the canopy, a coffee corner or a full kitchen, the pool outside your door or the ocean past the trees.
