Scuba Diving, Two-Tank Local Dive
Two guided dives on the volcanic reefs off Manuel Antonio, minutes from the marina.
Two dives, and the boat is barely out of the marina.
This is Pacific coast diving, not the Caribbean, and the two are not the same sport. What this coast has is more than a dozen dive sites reachable within minutes of the Quepos port, which means very little of your day is spent getting anywhere.
The trip is two guided dives of about forty-five minutes each, depending on your air and the conditions on the day. Full equipment, bilingual certified guides, snacks and water between the two, and the park and permit fees are already in the price.
More than a dozen sites within minutes of the port, which is the whole argument for diving here.
More about this tour
The dive centre sits inside Marina Pez Vela, which is the closest thing this hotel has to a neighbour. That is the practical argument for diving here rather than driving somewhere else to do it.
You need to be certified and you need to bring the card. If you are not certified, say so when you enquire rather than turning up hoping, because there is a separate introductory programme run under an instructor and it has to be arranged as its own thing.
Here's how the half day unfolds.
Every step is planned so you can focus on the experience, not the logistics.
We book it and confirm the time with you.
The dive centre sets the departure around the boat and the conditions rather than a fixed clock time, so yours is confirmed rather than assumed.
Kit, paperwork and the briefing.
Certification card checked, equipment fitted, and the dive plan for the sites you are going to. Nobody gets in the water without it.
Down along the rock.
About forty-five minutes with a guide, depending on air and conditions.
Snacks and water on the boat.
The gap between dives is not dead time. It is a required one, and it is included.
A second site, and back in.
The second of the two guided dives before the run back to the marina.
Everything that's included, and everything to bring.

Honest about the expectations
Each dive is set around your air and the day's conditions. This is not a postcard reef.
