This is the tour for people who would rather do something than be shown something. You launch into calm water off Quepos and work along the coast past rock inlets and small coves, with sea birds on the stacks the whole way out.
The turnaround is Biesanz Bay, where you get out of the kayaks and into the water with snorkel gear. That stop is what the rest of the tour is built around.

Beginners do this regularly and the guides stay with you throughout, but be honest with yourself about the paddling. Four hours on the ocean is a genuine workout, and the morning departure is the calmer of the two by a clear margin.
There is a proper meal at the end of it, which you will want more than you expect to.

Launch and the briefing.
Kayaks, life jackets and paddling technique on flat water before you go anywhere exposed.
Inlets, coves and sea stacks.
Working the coastline past rock formations with pelicans and frigatebirds overhead.
Snorkelling at Biesanz Bay.
Out of the kayaks and into the water with gear provided. This is the stop the tour exists for.
Lunch, then back to the hotel.
A meal made with local ingredients before the drive back to the lobby.
